As the central library for all three Pace campuses in Westchester, the facility required space for a quarter-million volumes, student and faculty study and lounge areas, support services, and administrative offices. The resulting 48,000-square-foot structure combines these elements in a compact, three level linear plan that provides easy access to all components.

Nestled into a wooded slope overlooking a pond that acts as the campus focal point, the building forms a symbolic and – through a sheltered arcade along its length – physical link between existing academic and social buildings. Picturesque roof angles, brick, and shingles lend a residential character that also complements nearby structures preserved from the campus’ previous use as a private estate.
